以叶绿素为提取物，进行化学修饰得到光敏活性剂-脱镁叶绿酸α，其对微生物生长影响的研究表明：在光照条件下，脱镁叶绿酸α对金黄色葡萄球菌的生长和大肠杆菌原生质体的再生有明显的抑制作用；在暗培养条件下，脱镁叶绿酸α的抑制作用减弱。
